My life has changed forever

I just want to make a quick announcement that MY DREAMS HAVE COME TRUE AND MY LIFE HAS CHANGED FOREVER.

Yesterday, Write Bloody Publishing announced four Jack McCarthy Book Prize Contest winners. My first full-length poetry collection is one of those winners and will be published by Write Bloody in 2025.

There is no better home for this book than WBP.

First, seeing their founder, Derrick Brown, and Anis Mojgani and Buddy Wakefield perform in 2011 altered how I thought about poetry. I doubt I’d still be writing if it hadn’t been for this single night and these three incredible artists.

Secondly, they publish people who write about the trenches of depression and trauma and the underdog victor of hope. This is what my book is about. To be able to make meaning out of pain is nothing short of a divine honor.

Lastly, I get to do readings as part of this book deal. I’m really over the moon about this opportunity since I’ve been living abroad for the last decade. I get to choose where in the US I do these readings, and I’ve got big ideas and high hopes.

The support I’ve already received….y’all I can’t even cope with this level of gratitude. Thank you so much to every single person who has believed in my art. You’ve given me purpose.
