edit a new poem with me
after Vincent Chong’s oil on canvas, how do you weigh a sleeping ghost?
Thank you to my paid Substack subscribers for sending me their poems for monthly feedback (feedback from yours truly). If you haven’t yet, there’s still time. Link to submit is below.
And since we’re in the full swing of editing, I’ll show you my poem in progress and ask for your thoughts. With it, let’s discuss giving context to complicated issues.
I am incredibly lucky to work with
in her writing group, Gather, and incredibly elated that Chen Chen did a guest workshop last Tuesday for Gather. We ended by writing poems inspired by a selection of art pieces.I chose Vincent Chong’s oil on canvas, how do you weigh a sleeping ghost? because I was drawn to the title. Using the title immediately freed me to write about a topic I’ve been avoiding—a specific breed of survivor’s guilt.
